Breach is looking for an experienced Technical Artist to be the bridge between our artists and programmers.


Breach creates bleeding-edge content and solutions for virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (VR / AR / MR / XR), with strong emphasis on multi-user collaboration and cross-platform scenarios. 

The company headquarter is situated downtown in the tech-capital and university city Trondheim, Norway.

The company saw its inception in late 2016, by three Norwegian co-founders meeting at the game-themed co-working space Work-Work. Breach has since grown to a team of 18 enthusiastic designers and developers, working on a variety of projects both internally as well as with clients and partners around the world.

 

We are now seeking a Technical Artist to help improve our pipeline and workflow, create optimized shaders, and help ensure that our projects not only look great but also runs smoothly. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Create optimized shaders that adhere both to the visual and performance requirements

  • Work with the Artists and Developers to improve existing pipelines and workflow

  • Explore and implement new technology and content creation methods

  • Work with the Production team to identify risks and potential solutions in pre-production and early phase project development

  • Work with the broader team and contribute in conceptual discussions across a variety of projects.

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working as a Technical Artist in a relevant industry

  • Expert Shader knowledge

  • Experience with pipeline optimization and improvements

  • Production experience with Unity or Unreal

  • Experience working with Maya, Max or Blender, as well as Substance Designer/Painter

 

Bonus points

  • Experience working with VR platforms

  • Scripting experience (C#, Python, Mel, MaxScript or others)

  • Experience with profiling and optimization on both desktop and mobile devices

  • Experience with Houdini or other procedural tools and pipelines

  • A sensibility for design and user experience.
