We are hiring a senior software engineer to join our Product team, so we can continue delivering great features. At Proper, we automate the day-to-day management of our homes, offices and shops. By rethinking and automating processes, we remove almost all the hassles. We are present throughout Denmark, and you will help us expand to more countries. We are a venture fund startup and have the 3 largest VC’s in Denmark as investors. Since Dec' 18 we have experienced a monthly growth of 30%.

About the job

You will join a Product team of experienced developers and engineers at a great stage of our history, where we expect you to contribute to the implementation of our product, assist in scaling our product as well as promote good technical practices.  

We build our product through a design thinking philosophy. First we test the idea and business needs through a pretotype. When we have gained insights and understand the jobs to be done it’s time to improve and build a prototype. You will be a big part of designing and improving the pretotype and prototype. At the last stage we do the real implementation of the business logic in our main stack. This process is the key to how we stay fast and agile.

The Product team works with Kanban as a cross-functional team and considers the end-to-end responsibility as a team effort. This also means that you will not be boxed in a niche, but get responsibility across the product, and it is expected that you contribute to the team and use your skills broadly within the product team. 

Needless to say, as we work with peoples homes and offices, and all the money flows through our software, we are serious about security and privacy.

We rely entirely on a serverless infrastructure on AWS. Most of our micro-services are written in Java, based on Clean Architecture and CQRS, using AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, and DynamoDB. 

In the frontend we use TypeScript, React (Next.js) with styled-components and a bit of Node.js. We plan to implement GraphQL and WebSockets soon.

About you

You are an experienced software engineer who is eager to be part of a very senior product team. As a person you thrive in a position where you have a lot of responsibility, work in a small team and also challenge the existing processes, the team, the product and yourself. 

You should have at least 4-5 years of experience to be used to work with Java (or be very skilled in Python). Some experience with AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, and DynamoDB is welcomed.

 and that you are passionate about what you do.

We have made a strategic decision not to have a remote office, so you must be able to work full-time at our office in Copenhagen.
