At CHAOS we provide a better understanding of cities’ complexity in a lean way. Our AI-powered urban insights and forecasts enable fact-based decision-making for city development, which leads to the creation of more sustainable cities around the world. By integrating data that different systems are creating with the data that people produce in their living environment (ideas, behaviour) we produce indexes that allows to measure the performance of cities today and simulate future scenarios.

Our customer access our indexes through a license to our web-based dashboard interface.

We are looking for an accomplished SaaS software engineer to help us scale our product. You will help set the technical direction for our cloud-based solution's architecture to ensure the successfull delivery of our promise to our customers as we scale, in terms of data access and restrictions, responsiveness, and high scale data storage.

About you:

A seasoned computer science / engineering professional, who:

• Has experience building and scaling solutions with superior UX/UI and complex cloud-based infrastructure. (We would love to see an example of your work!)

• Is able to plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product according to business value (ROI) and company vision.

• Is ready to lead the planning of the product sprints/releases, set expectation for the delivery of new functionalities/features, and provide vision and direction to the Agile development team during the execution.

• Is able to write clean, maintainable code, and set up and maintain cloud services and APIs.

• Represents the technological agenda in team and management meetings, and when making hiring decisions.

• Maintains current knowledge of technology landscape and developments, and keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.

• Tracks and analyses technology performance metrics.

• Can work in close coordination with the data team.

The main tech stack consists of:

• Python

• Node.js

• SQL, Redis and BigQuery databases

• Google Cloud services or equivalent

• Kubernetes engine

• GIS and Flask are a plus
