About the role

Would you like to build early-stage start-ups with us? Do you have the business savvy, the technical insight, relationship development skills and the background necessary to establish credibility and earn trust within the start-up/VC ecosystem and to help further establish inQvation as a leading venture development firm?

This is a new role, and in close collaboration with the rest of the inQvation team the mission is to increase the value of our portfolio companies through active involvement. You will report to the General Partner in Build, Christian Tost.

We are looking for a Venture Developer who can manage effectively, think critically and work passionately. You own a range of exciting projects and work on them in close collaboration with founders and management teams. You will have insights into the overall strategic matters and naturally gravitate towards responsibilities that make you want to roll up your sleeves at inQvation. This is a rare opportunity to build high-energy, mission-driven companies.

What you’ll do

As Venture Developer your main goal is to ensure successful collaboration of our portfolio companies and our operational teams. Through excellent project management and business development you will help our portfolio companies grow by solving ad-hoc activities to build up the production, distribution logistics or customer service areas all the way to the analysis, planning and implementation of internationalization strategies (dependent on your skills).

You will be a key member of our start-up founder team and be recognized as a valuable member of the team making strategic definition of key targets in close collaboration with founders of our portfolio companies as well as operational implementation to drive for maximum success by taking on various interim management positions at our portfolio companies.

You will be accountable for internal project communication to guarantee a smooth communication flow with all inQvation functional heads (marketing, sales, tech, people, operations, finance and BI) and ongoing monitoring and reporting of our portfolio companies in collaboration with our management team.

What you bring

• You graduated top of your class in economics, business or in a similar field

• You gained relevant work experience in a business consultancy or in business development in the start-up or a similar environment

• You possess a deep understanding of digital business models and are quick in identifying core operational challenges

• You have a proven track record in project management, and expectations management is one of your core skills

• You are an expert in Excel and PowerPoint and bring basic knowledge of trends within web technologies and digital tools in general

• You are pragmatic and a quick, focused learner with a structured hands-on mentality

• You feel comfortable in a flexible, highly dynamic fast-paced environment and can communicate with different stakeholders fluently in English

• You are an entrepreneur by heart with an outstanding team spirit, loving and living the work hard, play hard game
