We're looking for a new server programmer to join our badass programming crew. You would work closely with the CTO, Lead programmer and the rest of the programming team in creating stable and cost-efficient solutions for our RTS game DwarfHeim.

You will be expected to not only to be working with our code, but also with our external partners.

Job responsibilities:

• Working on a set of servers, including the game’s dedicated server, mainly by:

  • Improving and optimizing code

  • Improving security

  • Implementing new features

  • Managing, monitoring and performing maintenance

• Improving and optimizing networking code

• Improving the game’s interactions with the servers

• Improving and configuring our matchmaking service

• Setting up and manage databases for stats for games and players

• Be a part of creating advanced solutions for networking

• Work closely with our Unity and Multiplay partners

• Work in a collaborative environment, not only with the programming team, but also with art, marketing etc.

Qualifications:

• Willing to relocate to Trondheim, Norway

• B.sc or M.sc in computer science or equivalent

• Experience in network coding and knowledge of .net framework.

• Basic knowledge of network security

• Knowledge of server-client communications.

• Time management and ability to work within deadlines

• Good English skills

• Organized and clean workflow

• Ability to take and give constructive feedback

• Understanding of the technical constraints in game development and ability to apply them when creating characters

Nice To Have

• Previous experience in game development

• Clean coding and good documentation skills

• Knowledge of the RTS genre

• Experience with online multiplayer game networking

• Experience with real-time networking applications and synchronization

• Experience with Azure Devops

• Experience with Unity 3D
