The Volunteer Coordinator provides vital structure and organisation for managing volunteers at The Shortcut’s events and programs. For those interested in getting involved in the startup ecosystem, becoming a volunteer at The Shortcut is a great way to get an introduction and learn about what it means to be in the Helsinki startup ecosystem. Therefore, ensuring that volunteers have a positive learning experience and are encouraged to join more events is the goal of the position.

As an ideal candidate, you are:
Energised and driven by subjects such as entrepreneurship, startups, and The Shortcut mission
Preferably experienced in organising and coordinating people for events or programs
Extremely people oriented with awesome leadership capabilities
Structured with the ability to keep people focused in a fast-paced startup organisation with lots of events
An excellent team player with terrific interpersonal skills
As a Volunteer Coordinator Intern, you will:
Lead the efforts to build up a community of volunteers for Shortcut events and program
Ensure a positive volunteer experience that makes volunteers interested in becoming more involved in the startup ecosystem
Work closely together with the Events and Programs team to coordinate efforts and human resources
Develop processes for keeping track of volunteers and assessing good candidates to be further involved with The Shortcut
Organising trainings and events for volunteers
Platform to showcase your ability and increase your employability
Hands-on experience on talent development in the biggest startup ecosystem in the Nordics
Access to networking opportunities
Working with a diverse community of driven, likeminded doers
