Do you like to see the bigger picture in environmental issues yet also want to look at the details and explore the underlying data, and are you not scared of databases and algorithms to do so? Then we need your help at InforMetics.

InforMetics specializes in data processing, presentation and creating value for our clients through providing the most impartial basis for decision making. We combine IT and natural sciences through data science, sometimes collecting data, most often inspecting and analyzing data, and frequently thinking of new ways to help our clients visualize the results.

We need a curious yet structured student data scientist with a grounding in environmental engineering and water, who is prepared to work across both data input and output and data analysis. With a practical focus on how data is to be used and an interest in python scripting and data visualization. Some interest in databases, machine learning and modelling is a plus – but we will make sure to utilize whatever strengths and experiences you bring with you. 

We are looking for a keen interest to work and develop one or more of these skills: 

• Experience with real-time measurements
• Data analysis skills and experience
• Programming experience on a scripting level – ideally python
• SQL or other database user and programming experience
• Experience with geo-referenced data (2D, 3D, 4D) and/or GIS

We look for a commitment of approximately 2 days per week, with some flexibility to take on additional tasks during final project delivery. We provide 24-7 operational services to our end-users and there is therefore also the possibility to take on duty responsibilities outside of office hours.
