At Capdesk we modernise the way companies and investors manage their equity and communication. We’re the leading equity management platform and one of the most promising fintech startups in Europe. We’ve successfully built and commercialised our product and our funding outlook is great. We’re looking for a backend developer who can join our team and help take us to the next level.
Team
We're 12 employees (and counting) with offices in London and Copenhagen. Our founders are two senior software engineers and two passionate finance guys. You'd be part of product development in trendy Nørrebro, Copenhagen.
Position
We have an ambition to turn our equity management platform into Europe’s unquestionable number one. To get there, we need your skills to add the features we need, improve the features that we already have, and implement and extend integrations with external systems.
Initially, you will help us improve existing features while getting familiar with our technology stack and the somewhat complex business domain. Your sharp mind, sensitivity to details, and quick learning will rapidly enable you to take on increased responsibilities based on your seniority and interests.
Both junior and senior candidates are encouraged to apply. We are pragmatic and we’ll adjust processes to fit the person and not vice versa. If you’re a junior, you’ll get all the exciting challenges and opportunities of a startup with plenty of room to learn and grow. If you’re a senior, this could be a great chance to have some impact and help shape the future of an amazing product. Earn our trust and you’ll get the kind of freedom and ownership that’s only possible at companies this size.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and technically design new features or improvements together with our business team and potential partners and customers.
- Implement and roll out features and improvements end-to-end in Git, PostgreSQL, Ruby on rails, HTML, and AngularJS. Implement and roll out integrations to external systems using the appropriate technologies. Continuously, proactively bugfix, refactor and improve existing code base.
- Collaborate with our frontend team to ensure that your functional designs are understandable, useful, and as simple as possible. The frontend team will style your features; you will implement the underlying templates.
- Be a team-player: Be positive, solution-oriented and assist your teammates with technical sparring.
- Hand over released functionality to business: Marketing should be able to brand it, Sales should be able to sell it, and Customer Success should be able to help customers take advantage of it. Suitable documentation is a natural part of this.
- Stay on top of relevant technologies used in the platform or which could be useful to integrate and help us adopt them as necessary.
- Your tasks will depend on your capabilities and ambitions. Feel free to blow us away.
Required Skills and Experience
- You have a degree in computer science, mathematics or similar
- You have worked with larger code bases before and understand how important it is to build a well-structured system that can grow and avoid future headaches.
- You write beautiful code. When you don’t, you’re annoyed.
- You quickly master new technologies and are not afraid to, for instance, learn a new programming language.
- You speak and write English fluently.
Convenient Extras
- You’re familiar with one or more technologies in our stack.
- You have worked on a web application before.
- You have backend development work experience.
