Who are we?

Media Sifter is a newly founded social impact driven startup, utilising the best of technology to resolve an impact issue best access to information fact checked. We are building a decentralized news platform on an Ethereum-blockchain to push media accountability and verification.

What you’ll be doing

• Work in one of the most exciting spaces of Applied Computer Science 
• Help develop the Sifter Protocol and reference implementation 
• Apply advanced distributed computing patterns, game theory, and cryptography 
• Help design and build a scalable and truly decentralized platform that will connect thousands of users

Who we are looking for

• You have a few years of industry experience before joining Media Sifter
• Experience in distributed systems or database engineering, especially experience with blockchain technology and the Ethereum stack is a 
• plus (Geth, Web3, RPC, Solidity, ). Having an interest in exchanges and a solid understanding of consensus protocols helps, too.
• You have adequate experience with Python, git, Linux, networking, experience with a system programming language. Preferably you have some other open source contributions or pet projects you can point to
• You take ownership of what you are working on, feel responsible for it and is able to deliver without constant supervision. You are a team player who can communicate fluently in spoken and written English. German language proficiency is a plus
• You participate in code reviews and feel comfortable in an agile development process
• You are proactive and independent and have an optimistic, honest, passionate, contrarian personality
