As a full-stack Software Developer, you will join a team of highly skilled developers, designers, and product owners.

• First and foremost, we enjoy delivering results that create value for the end users, while we ensure a high-performance, high-availability, robust product that scale with our traffic (10.000++ requests/second ) and data-heavy platforms (100++ terabytes).
• We enjoy to work across disciplines, and take a holistic, end-2-end approach to software development.
• We enjoy to be at the forefront of development practices, Agile, Continuous Delivery, Software as Service, Cloud-based, Docker, React, but we’re not completely buzzword compliant - We also like to take the proven approach like MySQL.  

A lot of the work is done back-end side, but you will also need to be comfortable with creating javascript-based (ES6, React) front-end code that can run in production. In short, we expect you to be involved in all aspects of issuu's infrastructure and operations.

Our daily work involves solving problems from just about every area of computer science, including search, information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, data compression, big data and so on. 

Our back-end infrastructure is developed in a range of programming languages depending on the task at hand. We use mainly Python, Ocaml and Erlang, using imperative as well as functional paradigms. Our services are built on Amazon's scalable infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.). 

Qualifications 

• Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment as a self-starter and quick learner
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience designing and building robust, high-volume production web applications
• Ability to participate in architecture design and create prototypes quickly
• Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design
• Proficient knowledge of Unix/Linux
• Solid communication skills in English
• Experience with Python
• Experience with relational databases
• Experience with Erlang, OCaml or other functional programming languages is a plus
• Experience with Amazon Infrastructure services is a plus

About the Team and Office

You will be joining our DK engineering team in Copenhagen consisting of approx. 22 developers. We are a diverse office with members of all parts of issuu, including Customer Support, Product, Design, Data Analytics and Management.

In a company the size of issuu, code maintainability is just as important as site accessibility. That also means that you are willing to share your code with other people or sit together for pair programming sessions.

Our office is conveniently located next to the Copenhagen Central Station. We provide nice, catered lunches each day, regular outings and monthly Friday bars with drinks, snacks and activities.
