More about SMG Capital

SMG Capital has a broad investment approach – they evaluate each case individually and match it up against their investor’s preferences and the characteristics of the specific case. They are a multi-sector platform, which is why all kinds of cases could be within their scope. A general aspect is though, that they seek cases that can benefit from the “ambassador effect” coming from addressing the crowd investors.

Experience

SMG Capital was founded in 2018 – The team and board come from diverse backgrounds including venture capital, asset management, corporate finance, and growth companies.

How much do they invest?

SMG Capital seeks to be a part of the whole funding process, from pre-seed to IPO. The amount they typically raise is in the interval from €50.000 to €1.000.000 depending on the stage and capital requirement. With this, they help companies raise capital from their equity crowdfunding platform and through private placements. They have a close partnership with SMG & Co, a corporate finance specializing in larger capital raises, M&A etc. for growth companies.

How do they work?

From start to end SMG Capital have their investors in mind, especially in the evaluation process of the capital seeking company. With this, they go through a conceptual, structural, company-specific and legal due diligence in order to make a qualified decision before talking on the company. All companies need to go through an AML process before initiating, making the platform up to date with all regulations and investors safer when investing – and is licensed by Danish FSA.
