We require cooperation between the public sector, companies and R&D environments or R&D institutions where otherwise not specified in the call. We emphasize the potential for realizing innovation in application processing, so that project results benefit the public sector, and companies find their national and international markets with products or services.

The grant scheme will strengthen the region's research capacity through grants for research and innovation and through mobilization for increased R&D efforts. The research funds will support the region's priority areas of action. Within these areas, they will also contribute to long-term, basic competence building in relevant research environments.

The goal is to develop good and competitive research environments in all counties. The funds will also meet the R&D needs of the regions by supporting R&D projects initiated by companies, government agencies, including universities, colleges and research communities.

The support can go to projects located in and outside the fund region's geographical area of ​​impact.
