More about Reach for Change

Reach for Change unleash the power of social innovation and entrepreneurship to create a better world for children and youth.

Experience

Reach for Change believe that if you have a strong enough passion and a good enough idea you can change the world for children and youth. They also believe that in order for that to happen, you will need support. You will need someone to believe in your idea and to help you take the first steps. Reach for Change supports social entrepreneurs, who they call Change Leaders, through innovation labs, incubators and scaling programs in 15 countries across 3 continents.

How much do they invest?

They support social entrepreneurs in developing sustainable business models. One part of this support is potential seed funding. The financial support that they give is aimed at letting the entrepreneur focus fully on developing and scaling his core operations and make it sustainable. Typically, the level of funding will gradually decrease as they expect the entrepreneur to develop other sustainable revenue sources.

How do they work?

After you get accepted to the incubator program, they can support you in 4 different ways.

Potential seed funding Reach for Change supports social entrepreneurs in developing sustainable business models. One part of this support is seed funding. The financial support that they give is aimed at letting the entrepreneur focus fully on developing and scaling his/her core operations and make it sustainable.

Advice and expertise Through their capacity building programs, Reach for Change help social entrepreneurs build the capacity required to grow and become sustainable. This entails coaching, training and tools in areas such as strategic planning, impact evaluation and leadership. As creating sustainable business models is a core challenge for most social initiatives, Reach for Change put a special value on transferring skills from the business sector to the social sector. They, therefore, connect social entrepreneurs to personal advisors from their corporate partners who provide business expertise and strategic advice.

Network No one can change the world alone - you need to have people on your side. A crucial part of the value that Reach for Change add to social entrepreneurs is access to their network. This includes their network of corporate partners and their co-workers, including potential investors, media contacts and other valuable connections. It also includes their global team of Change Leaders. Change Leader sessions are held regularly where their entrepreneurs interact with and learn from each other.

Credibility For early-stage social entrepreneurs, a critical success factor is credibility and legitimacy. Therefore, one important value that Reach for Change provide, is believing in the entrepreneurs and their idea. Making it through Reach for Change's extensive selection process serves as a stamp of approval and being named a Change Leader in many cases opens doors to new opportunities and investors.
