The incubator has a strong focus on robot hardware. They support companies at an early stage and accommodates both startups and spinouts from established companies and research institutes. The Hub’s main focus lies on hardware and they supply a broad array of development tools such as 3D printing, vision equipment, robots, mobile platforms and grippers.
Starting in October 2015, the Startup Hub is a very young program. The incubator has sprung out of Odense Robotics, which has 25 years of experience in the field of robotics and automation. The Incubator took in two companies in 2015 and will help five companies in 2016.
The Startup Hub fuels early-stage development to ensure that the startups involved are ready for subsequent funding and development. As part of the program, you will get access to facilitation, sparring and Odense Robotics network of companies, potential partners, and investors. Participants can receive guidance for up to 24 months.
Participation in the incubator is free of charge. To apply for the program, fill out their application form. You will thereafter be invited for an initial screening interview. If your project is approved, your application will be sent to the program’s board and you will be invited to do a pitch. The board will, thereafter, select two startups to enter the Odense Robotics Startup Hub.
Starting the program, you don’t have to have a working prototype. Your idea should be scalable and with the potential to become a viable business.
The application form has a word restriction on all its sections. It is, therefore, important to make it short and precise. The program only chooses two companies for each round and they invest a lot of resources in each company. Your pitch should reflect your idea’s potential to succeed in a global market.
