More about NTNU Technology Transfer AS

Experience

They started up in 2004 and have since then developed more than 70 new businesses with researchers and students. They have acquired more than 900 million NOK for their projects and start-ups. Value made from exits is reinvested into new startups.

How much do they invest?

If You're employed at NTNU, and if necessary they can buy you out from your job full- or part-time to let you concentrate on the project. We can apply for funding through the FORNY-programme in the Norwegian Research Council and/or NTNU Discovery. They can help with making a prototype, patent application and license agreements.

How do they work?

Regardless of whether what we are presented with is at the draft stage or the result of many years of research, we make a thorough assessment of the potential for commercialisation. If we see the potential, we apply the resources that are needed to get the process moving. The aim is to negotiate a license agreement or start up a company. We are here to support your project all the way. In many cases they stay on board well past the finish line, if there is a need for it.

This makes a difference to them

Your product or service should aim to benefit the society. When reviewing ideas they also consider uniqueness, demand, your belief and your team.
