As generalist as they come in terms of industry focus. Compared to many other investors, they are not only emphasizing scalability beyond Denmark’s borders. It’s fine, if your company’s core market is Danish.
Nordin Invests springs from the Danish bioinformatics company CLC bio, funded in 2004. CLC bio’s experience within research-driven products and services adds to the knowledge base of Nordin Invest. They have special insight, when it comes to software and hardware for gene and protein analysis. An understanding of targeting global markets, is also included with Nordin as an investment partner.
It varies. Normally their financial involvement is so substantial that they also obtain a set on the board of the company, they invest in. Either Nordin performs an investment individually or with a group of co-investors.
An introductory meeting is the first step. You present your company and capital need in brief. If Nordin Invest finds your business interesting, a fuller written pitch follows next. Every aspect of the company is discussed, and you should be prepared to give information on the financial history, current liquid assets, and possibly copyrights. All information is handled in confidentiality.
The full evaluation process can last 2-3 months until the final investment agreement is on the table.
Aside from chemistry with the company’s team, Nordin Invest likes to be an active collaborator. This means discussing areas such as overall strategy and marketing with Nordin, as you go along. Openness is valued, because it makes it easier for them to find the area, where they can contribute the most with their business knowledge.
The quality of the business idea and your team is essential. More specifically, you should provide an overview of your company covering these core aspects:
CLCbio and Zensehome.
