Serial entrepreneur and early stage investor with over 25 years of marketing and business development experience in Europe, North America and Asia.
I divide my time between pro bono activities (e.g. TheShortcut.org, Slush, mentoring students and working with a couple of NGOs) and investing in early stage technology companies (60+ companies currently). I enjoy working with passionate entrepreneurs and researchers by investing my funds and time to transform innovative ideas into significant growth companies.
Prior to this, I was co-founder of Trema, where I was responsible for marketing and communications. Trema (today: ION Trading) is the global leader in high end fintech solutions for financial institutions, central banks and Fortune 500 corporations. At the time of my exit in 2004, Trema had USD 50 million in revenues and over 300 employees in nine offices globally, with clients like BMW, Citibank, the European Central Bank and Unilever.
My background is in marketing and business development. I have also been involved in:
• Establishing presence in new geographical markets
• Building partnerships
• Recruiting
• Numerous funding rounds
• IPO preparations
• Mergers & acquisitions
• Due diligence processes.
Specialties: Asking seemingly innocent and dumb questions. Interested in strategy, innovation, positioning, differentiation, business modelling, corporate identity, branding, design and weird ideas.
