More about Michael Klem

Michael got his education in Business Administration and Industrial Management at the University of Wyoming and the University of Vermont in the US.

He started his career as a manage¬ment consultant at Arthur Andersen & Co (now Accenture).

After three years as a consultant he left the consulting industry, and has thereafter more than fifteen years of experience as a finance executive (CFO) in different Norwegian and foreign owned companies and corporations.

During the dot.com period (1998 – 2001) he moved to Washington DC where he during 3 hectic years was the founder and and co-founder of 4 different start-ups within the areas of Internet and Broadband Services.

When coming back to in Norway in 2001, he was asked to take the position as the Head of International Department at Visma Services AS. After about two years in this position Michael founded his own accounting services company called AccountOnIt AS.

AccountOnIt AS developed to become the 12. largest company in its industry in Norway. In August 2011 the company was sold to PwC to form the start of PriceWaterhouseCoopers launch into the accounting services and compliance market in Norway (currently named PwC Accounting).

In September 2011 Michael moved to Brazil following his wife who served as the General Counsul of Norway in Rio de Janeiro. With an open agenda, he got quickly involved with the social project Karanba Associacao Filantropica (www.karanba.org) where he served as the General Manager between 2012 and 2015. His challenge and responsibility was to develop the financial base, and the organization to make the project sustainable for the long run.

After more than 3 years of awarding volunteer work, Michael moved back to Norway in August 2015. In Norway he will pursue new business opportunities, while taking care or current positions as board member and investor in various promising start-up companies.
