Background

Mandatum Asset Management is the asset management arm of Sampo. The Firm was formed in 2021 by combining Sampo’s proprietary balance sheet, client assets, and the investment operations from Sampo Plc and Mandatum Life into a new asset management company. MAM manages approximately EUR 29 billion in balance sheet and client assets across credit, private equity, real estate, and listed equities. MAM employs approximately 120 investment, operations, and distribution professionals.

Investment strategy

MAM Private Equity has a structured approach to growth investing and seeks to invest in companies with proven business models and that have already shown notable traction in their field with products or services that are not easily replicable. Additionally, while MAM PE is industry-agnostic, it focuses on industries with clear market tailwinds and trends that continue to propel growth.

MAM PE’s target commitment size ranges from €10 to more than €30 million, which can be committed at once or increased over the life of the investment. MAM PE is an active owner throughout the investment lifecycle, providing its expertise and access to partners to support significant valuation creation. Finally, MAM PE seeks to invest in companies with recurring revenue models, either traditional SaaS or other recurring business model.
