More about Foundation Asset Management (FAM)

Experience

FAM was founded in 2007. It is owned by the three largest Wallenberg foundations – the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation, and the Marcus and Amalia Wallenberg Foundation. Pr. 2004 the fund’s assets were estimated to SEK 36 billion.

How much do they invest?

FAM takes an active approach to ownership by focusing on activities that are in the best interests of holdings in the long term. In its role as a leading owner, FAM works to ensure that the boards of holdings have the right composition. The investment managers, together with the board members associated with the companies, form a business team for each holding. They can invest from a few million SEK to 30 million SEK.

How do they work?

FAM’s team evaluates new opportunities that are in line with the current investment and ownership philosophy. They seek to create revenue and at the same time value for the society.
