They invest in soil, forest, garden, tourism, renewable energy, environmental technology, food, and health. Ekonord is based in Trångsviken and make their investment in the seven northernmost counties. They do not invest in earliest stages.

Ekonord was founded in 2008. It was founded to help grow green businesses in the north of Sweden. They are founded and owned by the following companies; Inlandsinnovation, Länsförsäkringar, Sveaskog, Milko/Arla, LRF, ICA and E.ON. Their expertise is also what determine Ekonordinvestment areas.

How much do they invest?

They provide capital, expertise, and network. The investments range between 2-25 million SEK in equity capital and convertible loans. They require an ownership of at least 15 %, board space, and shareholder agreements. Ekonord strives to become the single biggest external owner.

Helen Olausson – CEO
Helen joined the team in 2014. She has great leadership experience from both the private and public sector. Helen holds an MSc in real estate economics & law from KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

Anders Källström – Chairman of the board
In 2009 Anders became CEO of Lantbrukarnas Riksförbund, one of Ekonords owners. He later became chairman of the board. He has experience as CEO and board member prior to this. Anders studied communication science at Mid Sweden University.
