CapCo ApS

CapCo is the investment vehicle 100% owned by Cornelia Müller. Having a strong background in Mobile Telecoms and since 2005 in Web and Mobile Startups herself, Cornelia has invested as an angel investor in several startups all over the world, incl. South East Asia, Africa, Middle East and of course Europe. I enjoy helping the startups get off the ground in a very early stage, before a ''proper'' first investment round can take place. My focus is on digital, mobile (Apps-based) and mostly B2C solutions and I have also been part of one of the earliest impact investment funds in SEA. Currently B2B and agriculture are topics that I want to explore more. Having recently moved to Denmark (with my Danish husband) and after spending almost 20 years all over the world, it is now time to focus on startups here and in Europe. I grew up in Germany and Switzerland and also still have some roots there.

More about CapCo ApS

An investment decision for me is a very personal process - I am not the Angel, that invests like a machine in a dozen startups each year and hopes that one of them turns out to be a money maker to make me rich.

A lot of the founders I have worked with in the past were referrals through the personal or professional network. Mutual trust is very important for me and if it makes sense, I am happy to help in whatever topic or way I can. Either with my knowhow in certain areas such as mobile business models, telecoms industry, product development etc., with my experience in starting a company or with a network of people in Europe or the rest of the world.

I am not interested in super fast scaling and cashing out as soon as possible. I think a startup needs time to develop its product and make its business model work. and then - if it can live from its revenues, generated by the customers acquired, even better! I am not a big fan of burning money super fast and jumping from investment round to investment round in order to survive. that can work in some cases (in many cases it just means constant pressure and focus on paperwork, pitches etc.), but it distracts the team from doing what they really love to do.

I respect founders that love their idea and product and would be happy to work with it for the next many years.

I don't need a pitch deck, but a clear idea of what you want to do and where you want to go. and we can discuss that over a lunch or a zoom call. and I also prefer working professionally, as in proper planning of the next 2-3 months, some reporting or structured feedback per quarter on what has been achieved and what are the goals for the next quarter, what are the main challenges ahead etc. no rocket science, but a framework that gives direction and clarity about what's going on because we all know that in a startup, it's so easy to get drowned in all the things that have to be done at the same time.
