As the Manager of the Service Reliability Operations (SRO) Team at Proofpoint you will be responsible for managing a team that handles provisioning, upgrading, maintaining, and scaling our production services and server farms across multiple data centres in support of the business delivering a world class service for our customers.

Your day-to-day:

- Prioritising and executing Production code releases for existing services and building new services as required

- Prioritising and executing tasks across multiple simultaneous projects

- Scheduling and undertaking continual training and learning for new work items

- Contributing to the monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and reporting in the production environment

- Identifying, communicating and implementing process changes within SRO.

- Developing and maintaining SRO procedures in support of departmental and company objectives.

- Working across multiple teams and providing feedback on tasks, deliverables, process, training, and planning

- Implementing task automation and process improvements where applicable and recommending enhancements that result in increased quality and efficiencies.

- Planning and prioritising tasks using agile methods


What you bring to the team:

- Minimum 3+ years of technical management experience.

- 5+ years of working in an enterprise technical environment.

- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, initiative and leadership abilities.

- Effective analytical, planning, organisational, and documentation skills.

- Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios preferred).

- Familiarity with trouble ticketing systems (Jira, Bugzilla, etc.).

- Demonstrable experience working in a high volume, large deployment, multi-datacenter environment

- Familiarisation with virtualisation – KVM, VMware vSphere, ESX, ESXi, and vCenter

- Basic understanding of industry-standard operational practices such as change management, incident management, and working in colocation data centres

- Familiarisation with configuration management such as Puppet or Chef desirable
