The Job

We are seeking an Operations Manager with a genuine passion for supply chain management, particularly in procurement and logistics. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to lead a high-performing team and elevate Hem's operations to new heights. As Operations Manager, you will take charge of the operations management of Hem, from setting the strategy to ensuring the team's priorities are delivered on.

Responsibilities

Your objective is to enhance Hem's operational cost efficiency and elevate customer satisfaction, covering everything from onboarding new suppliers to managing last-mile delivery to customers' doorsteps. Leading a team of four procurement and logistics specialists, you’ll ensure smooth operations for both small B2C orders and large-scale wholesale projects. Additionally, you’ll collaborate closely with Hem’s R&D and customer-facing teams to stay attuned to customer needs and preferences.

Here follows some of the key areas of responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a global inventory strategy to support efficient fulfillment, while optimizing purchasing and streamlining stock management.
• Stay ahead of current and future needs from the Sales team, managing everything from small B2B orders to large bulk orders for wholesale partners
• Design and set-up complex made-to-order purchasing
• Make certain that both warehouses receive, store, and pick products promptly and in a cost-efficient manner
• Avoid stock differences through stock accuracy initiatives
• Secure top-quality transport carriers for both parcel and freight services
• Negotiate competitive rates with road, ocean, and air carriers
• Identify opportunities to enhance our internal communications to consistently meet customer expectations regarding delivery timelines
• Acting as the link between R&D, procurement and logistics, you’ll ensure the timely launch of new products
• Allocate team resources, to ensure the team spend their time on current top priorities
• Lead a small team with the ambition to grow

You will play a vital role in shaping how we work and communicate with both our external partners and other teams within Hem.

• Is an analytical fast learner with a knack for Excel and ERP software
• Has excellent communication skills (English) both in speaking and in writing
• Loves structure, prioritization, and improving processes to maximize efficiency
• Feels comfortable taking data driven decisions
• Thrives in a cross-functional international role, working with global operations
• Has a postgraduate education within Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a similar degree
• Gets motivated by new challenges and happily finds creative solutions to daily hurdles
• Have a desire to grow within the company
