Character and Asset Designer Intern - Icy Studios

What You’ll Do:

• Design Characters & Assets: Create original character concepts, props, and environmental assets that align with the game’s style and enhance the story and atmosphere.

• Collaborate with Game Developers & Artists: Work closely with the creative team to ensure cohesive integration of character and asset designs into the game world.

• Iterate on Feedback: Participate in design reviews, incorporating feedback from the team to refine and improve designs for an optimal player experience.

• Research & Innovate: Stay up-to-date on character and asset design trends, experimenting with new techniques to deliver fresh and engaging designs.

• Build & Implement Models: Model, texture, and prepare assets for integration within game engines like Unity or Unreal, ensuring they meet technical specifications and aesthetic goals.

What We’re Looking For:

• Passion for Character & Game Design: A love for creating characters, props, and worlds, with a keen interest in visual storytelling.

• Fundamentals of Design: Understanding of design principles, anatomy, color theory, and composition, particularly as they apply to character and asset creation.

• Experience with Design & Modeling Tools: Familiarity with tools like Photoshop, Blender, ZBrush, or similar; experience with Unity or Unreal Engine is a plus.

• Detail-Oriented & Creative: A creative mindset with an eye for detail, capable of making visually striking and functional designs.

• Portfolio: A collection of character and asset design work, showcasing your skill in creating characters, props, or environments for games or similar projects.
