THE JOB ROLE
Are you self-motivated, structured, and able to handle multiple ongoing tasks? Do you want to get an insight into the operations of a social start-up, have high responsibility, have independent working hours, and have the opportunity to develop, design, and implement your ideas? Can you work at least 6 hours per week for at least 6 months? Then we might be looking for you.
We seek a Website Optimisation Assistant to help our team enhance our online presence. You will work closely with our Content Team to optimise our website using Squarespace.
Key Responsibilities
As a Website Optimisation Assistant, your priority is to provide support in maintaining, developing, and optimising our website. You will help implement and customise code, find and incorporate keywords, execute all aspects of SEO and optimise images.
You will have the following key responsibilities, amongst others:
Management of our website's content.
Creation, revision, and content updates of our pages.
Development, design and implementation of smart web design solutions that are user-friendly and visually appealing.
Customisation and implementation of code.
Conducting keyword research and incorporating keywords into the website.
Text incorporation and image preparation for our website.
Optimising images for better performance and loading times.
WHOM WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Knowledge of Squarespace software (squarespace.com) OR a strong interest in learning it.
Basic experience with SEO and keyword analysis.
Basic understanding of HTML/XHTML and CSS, OR a willingness to learn it.
Tech-savvy and eager to learn and work with content management systems (CMS), especially Squarespace.
Experience or skills in the following areas:
Content Management Systems.
Web design and usability.
Image processing with graphics software.
SEO
You want to boost your skills in practical and applied website optimisation. You’re keen to work hands-on and turn theory into reality. You are driven and results-oriented. You are a team player but can work independently. You are self-motivated, proactive and a self-learner who can work alone with minimal supervision. You are a student or a graduate in web development, web design, media, or similar.
Additionally, you are motivated, determined, direct, eloquent, creative, spontaneous, open-minded, and persistent.

We are an organisation of highly motivated volunteering professionals from various fields who aim to provide workable options, consumption alternatives, and solutions for consumers.
