THE WHY Foundation is a non-profit media organisation that supports sustainable development by securing free access to reliable information for millions of people around the world. We produce and distribute documentary films about human rights, democracy, justice and equality. Our documentaries are used in schools, community centres, public cinemas and brought to citizens at large through our growing network of more than 70 public service television stations around the world.
As a production assistant intern, you will partly be working with the Why Stories project. Why Stories is a curated series of critically acclaimed documentaries that we dub into local languages and donate to underserved communities through local broadcasters, NGOs, educational institutions and more.
As the production assistant you will also assist on our producers working on the comming campaign; Why Freedom. THE WHY are co-producing 6 feature films togther with local filmmakers from around the world. The work will containe supporting the producers with varries tasks both relating to co-producing the films but also in creating the camapign.
assisting the producers in expanding the reach of the project by connecting to new broadcasters and outreach partners
screening documentaries and assisting in the curation of the upcoming season of Why Stories
supporting the producers with deliverables and securing a smooth operation of the project
smaller administrative and research tasks
assisting coordinating a one day festival

You have a strong interest in documentary films and keep up-to-date with current affairs and political developments. It’s important that you:
have excellent communication skills in English
are highly organized with administrative capabilities
are comfortable liaising with multiple stakeholders independently
The Internship takes place at our office space in Gothersgade, situated above Cinemateket. We offer free lunch and a great view over The King’s Garden. The internship runs from September 2024 to December 2024, preferably full time. The Internship is unpaid and on a voluntary basis.
