We are a remote team with many years of combined experience in the game industry and are looking for an intern to take the role as Lead Animator, taking ownership of the animation team and assisting us. You will collaborate closely with other lead roles, as well as programmers, technical artists, animators, and technical animators, to contribute to reshaping how we build environments for games and digital entertainment in the future.

We at Landell Games are currently working on a never-before-seen, large-scale, old-school RTS title called Apoceus!

Responsibilities

• As a Lead Animator, you will ensure that your team of animators creates high-quality animations and rigs for characters, creatures, and objects.

• You will help guide your team and create and optimize pipelines to establish an efficient workflow.

• You will collaborate closely with all the other leads and their teams to ensure alignment of styles and workflows, and coherence across projects.

• You will create and update documents with guides and workflows for all the different animators to learn from.

• You will review animations and provide constructive feedback and support.

• You will manage deadlines and ensure efficient resource allocation.

Job requirements

• Excellent collaboration skills and good communication skills in English.

• A computer that can handle game asset animations.

• A portfolio showcasing animation work.

• Good understanding of how to plan and evolve pipelines and workflows.

• You should have a great passion for video games.

• Have great problem-solving skills.

• Excellent understanding of animation principles, body mechanics, rigging, and weight painting.

Internship Details

• Duration: This is a 6-months unpaid internship, with the possibility of extension.

• Commitment: You need to commit 40 hours / week of your time working with us.
