At MeetingPackage, we aim to make group bookings (9+ bedrooms), meeting rooms, and event spaces easily accessible to everyone. Our Integrations team are now looking for two Backend Engineers to build seamless and scalable interfacing to external systems!

As a Backend Engineer in the Integrations team, you ensure that our clients can easily integrate with other hospitality tech software. We are a small team of 4 Engineers in the Integrations team and looking for two new Backend Engineers for your growing team. You can work remotely anywhere in Europe or choose a hybrid model and work part of the time from our offices in Espoo, Finland.  You can read more about our integrations here. 

Talking about tools and technologies, we build our backend in Node.js and Typescript and use PostgreSQL mostly to get the job done. We ship our code to AWS and use DevOps tooling such as Github actions, Docker, and AWS CodeDeploy / CodePipeline. We follow general engineering best practices in the team and hope you would contribute to how we work in the Engineering team as we keep growing! 🙌

In this role, you will

• design, develop, and implement integrations that enable data exchange in the hotel technology ecosystem. This involves working with various third-party systems over their APIs.
• create and maintain APIs that allow different software systems to exchange data. This includes designing RESTful APIs, handling authentication, and ensuring data security.
• understand the data structures of different systems and implement mappings and transformations to ensure compatibility and consistency in data exchange.
• ensure service scalability and reliability. You write quality, maintainable, and effective code following best practices and are at home with database design.
• own your work together with the Integrations team. We work in small teams and are all responsible for the success of our company. We work closely with other engineers, product owners, and other team members. 

You'll feel at home if

• you have strong experience building backend services using Node.js and Typescript and solid experience in the overall software development lifecycle, including testing.  
• you have experience with relational databases, e.g.  PostgreSQL and MySQL.  
• You are comfortable working with cloud platforms. We are running on AWS. but experience with any other cloud platform (Google Cloud or Azure) is a plus.
• you are comfortable building RESTful APIs and integrations with 3rd party APIs. 
• you know, at least the basic DevOps tooling. Tools and principles such as CI, CD, Github actions, Docker, Travis, and AWS CodeDeploy / CodePipeline ring a bell to you.
• You are a good communicator, prefer having high ownership while working in small teams, and are excited to work in a growing company.
• You enjoy working with people in a diverse environment where trust and collaboration are expected from everyone. 
• You are based in Europe, ideally in Finland. 

It’s a plus if you have some experience with the JavaScript Frontend frameworks. Don't worry, though - we have dedicated Frontend Engineers!
