As a Full-stack Developer at Valified...

You will join our experienced development team and help us build and extend our platform, participating in all project stages from concept development to finished and polished product. We are low on ceremony and high on trust and empowerment.

About You...

We expect you to be a pragmatic problem solver with excellent communication and teamwork skills. You love learning from and working with others, and you value helping the team succeed over waving your own flag. You are empathetic, honest, and trustworthy.

You have a few years of professional experience in full-stack web development and a passion for web technology. You already master a server-side web framework such as Phoenix, Rails, or Django and you know your way around relational databases, cloud application architecture, and container-based deployment.

You are open-minded, curious, and ready to dive head-first into next-generation cloud development with Elixir, Phoenix, and LiveView.

New to Elixir, Phoenix, or LiveView? Don’t worry!

All are easy to learn and we will help you master them. Armed with an open and curious mind, you will be able to apply much of your experience from other web frameworks such as Rails or Django as you climb the learning curve. It'll be fun, challenging, and rewarding.

In this job you will

• Participate in all stages of development, from concept to finished feature

• Develop for the backend using Elixir and Phoenix

• Develop for the frontend using LiveView, Tailwind, HTML, CSS and a twist of JavaScript

• Build cloud native applications

• Lend a hand with DevOps work and bug fixing

• Collaborate using GitHub, Slack, etc.

• Practice sound development techniques such as iterative implementation, user stories, and continuous delivery

Your Place or Our Place

You can work fully remote if that suits you best. The rest of the team strives to meet every Tuesday and Wednesday in our Copenhagen offices, but that is not a requirement. You must be an EU resident, have a work permit, be fluent in written and spoken English, and reside in the EU.

Requirements

You must

• Have at least 3 years of professional full-stack development experience

• Know functional programming or have a strong desire to learn

• Master web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JSON

• Be very comfortable around relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL

• View automated tests as a natural part of your everyday development work

• Know your way around git, GitHub, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelinies

• Be proficient in spoken and written English

Additionally, it is a big plus if you

• Have experience with container-based deployment

• Have experience with Kubernetes

• Have experience with Tailwind

• Already know Elixir, Phoenix or Liveview
