A Software Engineering Team Lead is responsible for team’s execution, the quality they produce, the speed and cadence at which they produce, but most importantly, s/he is responsible for the team’s culture, environment, and overall growth of the people on it.

Your duties and responsibilities

• You are a coach - You help teach and mentor the people on your team

• You produce and execute - This can come in the form of writing code, running ceremonies, giving a presentation, doing research, testing the solution, or a million other ways that you can think of to help the team execute within a release.

• You remove blocks - When your team needs help, you should drop everything and help them.

• You set the tone - You are the baseline for what the expectation of the rest of the team is. Walk the talk.

• You paint the picture - You help establish the vision and identity of the team. You help connect their work to the impact they are making on the business or better, for the client. You are the conduit between what they do and why they do it.

• You help the team exceed their goals and potential – By believing in our teams and setting the bar higher than they would set it themselves, we are helping them exceed what they think they are capable of

• You do the math – You have a team that works with advanced mathematical algorithms and simulation software, and you will be invited to be a part of these discussions. 

• You represent the team - As a leader, you are an ambassador. You are the chief representative of the team no matter the forum, through the good and the bad.

• You see the future - Identify competence, resource needs and estimate project scope (hours needed, support CTO in strategic technical issue

Qualifications 

• M Sc or similar in Computer Science 

• At least 5 years’ experience from software development 

• 5 years experience C++ 

• Proven leadership skills

• Good mathematical understanding

• Comfortable and used to work with agile methodologies

• Good communicational skills, English
