Machine learning intern in exciting start-up to create next-gen virtual reality therapeutics.

Salary Unpaid
Equity To be negotiated

We help institutionalized elderly citizens get active and become more independent by using virtual reality and our own hardware sensor to gamify the experience of doing exercise tailored for a demographic that is often overseen. We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic intern to become a vital part of our team by leveraging machine learning to create the next generation of digital therapeutics. Come join us in the futurebox at DTU!

We are thrilled to announce that we are looking for a machine learning intern to become an integral part of our team and help us create great virtual reality content for our users.

Syncsense develops active virtual reality experiences for use in the health care sector, we do this by attaching a sensor, that we create in-house, to exercise equipment at nursing homes, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers. The sensor is in wireless communication with the headset which uses its motion data to gamify experiences for our users.

We are currently located at the DTU campus as we have been selected to be among the final 20 start-ups in the Danish tech challenge which describes itself as “Denmark’s biggest acceleration program for the most ambitious hardware start-ups.” This is also a great place to network and to get to know a ton of other like-minded individuals and start-ups.

We are looking for a machine learning intern to take our current sensor to a higher level. As of right now, we are only using our sensor on floor bikes but the thought is to leverage the data we retrieve from our sensor to make predictions on the exercise equipment it is currently placed on. The data from the sensor will be combined with the data from the actual headset to make predictions as accurate as possible. Ultimately allowing us the seamlessly propose gamified VR experiences to our users, that match the activity they are engaged in.

We would like you to start mid-November with a minimum of 20 hours a week, preferably full-time. We do not exclude the possibility of bringing our interns into the team on more permanent terms.

How we imagine you are:

  • Easy-going with an enthusiasm for start-ups.

  • A basic understanding of C# beyond your experience with Machine learning to create integration with Unity3D applications.

  • Eager to put your skills to work to better the quality of life for institutionalized elderly.

If any of this sounds interesting to you please do not hesitate to get in contact with us by doing the following:

  • A couple of paragraphs about who you are and why you know you can contribute

  • A CV with the relevant information for this position

  • (Optional) Some portfolio/GitHub/show-off of your work/experience

Although we welcome remote work, we do require some actual physical presence with the team every week.
