Interested in developing software for cutting edge medical diagnostics? Euformatics is looking for a Senior Software Developer for Genomic Data Applications who shares our passion for healthtech and genomics! If you are an experienced programmer who wants to put your skills to use developing genomics data applications that can be used for example, in helping to cure cancer or identify growth disorders, then read on!

In this position you would join the Euformatics’ product development team. Among other tasks, you will be:

• Building new features into our web applications

• Working with and integrating relational databases

• Developing automated tests

• Over time, taking on more individual responsibility for sub-systems within the applications

If you share our passion for healthtech and are genuinely interested in genomics, we are interested in you. You don’t have to be an expert in the field yet but you should be curious and open-minded to learn more. As we have new exciting projects starting in the near future, we hope that you would be able to start as soon as possible.

To succeed in the role, we are looking for someone with:

• Basic knowledge of biology, as well as a genuine and demonstrable interest in the field of genomics that we work in

• Several years of programming with Java or Python in a professional working environment

• Strong knowledge and skills in SQL and databases

• Experience with Linux and cloud technologies

• At least a Bachelors degree (preferably a Masters) in a related field

• The ability to adapt to the workload and dynamic of a small start-up

• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English

• Strong and proven ability to work effectively as part of a team

We consider as an additional asset:

• Some Finnish language capability (a couple of our customers work in Finnish)

• Knowledge of other languages (the rest of our customers are around the world)

• Knowledge and experience of DevOps
