Grant priority is given to projects that support the purpose of the VUDP, to projects that will contribute to linking the water companies, the research world, the industry and consulting companies with a special aim to support efficiency and innovation in the water sector and the individual water company, as well as export of water technology.

Selection of project ideas is based on an assessment of how the project meets the following criteria:

• Relevance to the water industry

• Degree of supply of quality improvements, efficiency improvements, environmental improvements, sustainability and better security of supply to the water industry

• Degree of use in the water industry

• Degree of news value for the water industry

• Degree of cooperation between different parties

Priority will be given to projects containing elements from all assessment criteria. In addition, a broadly composed team of various players in the water industry, business opportunities and export promotion as well as projects with circular economic thinking and sustainability will also be given high priority.
