As Digital Designer, you will drive forward the customer experience and sales potential by developing and executing creative design ideas and visual solutions to meet business objectives. A key area of the role includes delivering design and supporting the development team in line with the look, feel, branding and usability of our client’s websites. This role would suit someone who possesses both a creative flair and technical ability.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing assets and code to agreed standards to ensure the required level of customer experience is achieved. Optimise designs for browser and operating platform compatibility as appropriate; download efficiency, usability and accessibility.
Supporting the Website design and development teams in ensuring the level of design is always of the highest standard. Is attentive to detail regarding all aspects of work delivery and actively highlights concerns.
Broad understanding of UX/UI design requirements
Works efficiently on projects simultaneously delivering required standard of work within deadlines.
Working as an integral part of the Web Design team, content team, social media team and editorial, reporting directly to the Web development manager.
Building good relations with open and honest lines of communication with key stakeholders and the wider team.
Web/Graphic Design HND or similar qualification
A portfolio that showcases good layout design, typography and an understanding of design for digital platforms (iPad, mobile, on-screen)
Experience of Adobe CC suite, mainly illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign.
Experience of art working for various digital mediums; including web and mobile (video advantageous)
Prior (agency-side) design experience is highly preferred (Digital, marketing or Social)
Experience of working with copywriters and an understanding of proofing procedures and mark-up
Experience of using CMS (WordPress/WIX/SquareSpace
Be aware of all sizes and formats for creating assets for social media.
Working with Google Slides / Docs / Sheets, PowerPoint and Keynotes
Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask, work at pace and to tight deadlines.
Bonus skills: Motion/animation, basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
