Following a recent investment CattleEye is building a world class team of software engineers and data scientists in their Belfast offices to deliver on this mission. As a Full Stack Software Engineer within the team you will be empowered to create a cloud platform using the latest video analytics technologies powered by deep learning AI to provide new insights to farmers autonomously, in a way that is not available to them today.

Our ideal candidate has analytical and problem-solving mindset, along with:

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

• At least 5 years experience in software development.

• Strong software development skills and experience of building web applications from initial specification to final deployment and acceptance.

• Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and can demonstrate technical understanding, development skills and interpersonal qualities that this role requires.

• Experience in building rich client side applications.

• A quick learner who is looking for new challenges and responsibilities in an innovative software company.

• Experience with database design.

Bonus criteria include:

• An understanding of image analytics.

• Knowledge of Amazon Web Service.

• Experience with serverless environments

Working as part of the team, your role will include:

• Making decisions on the best technologies to use.

• Owning the technical details for the implementation of product features.

• Making use of appropriate frameworks to ensure rapid delivery of stories by the team.

• Building fully cloud deployable apps.

• Contributing to best practices, design patterns and identifying opportunities to refactor code.

• Understanding requirements (user stories) and making technical design decisions to fulfil them.

• Assisting in the estimation of work for the Application Team.

• Working as part of a small, multi-modality team to deliver a cloud-based platform to capitalise on the insights generated from our algorithms.

• Interacting with customers to ensure we build the correct solution.

• Learning the domain alongside customers and resident domain experts.

• Owning the CI/CD pipelines to ensure the rapid delivery of value to the customer.
