We are a pair of co-founders, seeking a mindful and sustainability-oriented CTO to join as a co-founder in Kanna. We would love to meet you if you are interested in applying mathematical modeling and (generative) AI to optimize and update the way people interact with the world around them! For some context, our smart web app product "Spindle" is about unambiguously applying technology for the preservation, revival, and evolution of traditional fiber crafts, including weaving, knitting, sewing, embroidery, crochet, and mending. You don't have to be an expert in any of these, but if this sounds intriguing - let's talk!

Our team is comprised of a digital product designer and CEO (who is also a former CIO) and are looking for a third partner with whom we can scale quickly and provide a platform that is both robust and intuitive (B2C). As part of the leadership team, you will play a key role in linking technology with the company's overall strategy and business.

Responsibilities

• Determine and develop technical user requirements for the app, ensuring optimal user experience, in collaboration with our director of design.

• Build up and lead the technical team.

• Collaborate closely with your fellow co-founders to ensure that technology fulfillment aligns with business goals.

• Monitor system architecture and anticipate technological trends and developments.

• Ensure data security and comply with relevant regulations.

Profile

• Relevant technical degree or equivalent work experience.

• Mindful, caring, and collaborative - we are in this for the long haul!

• Basic or advanced programming skills with the ability to contribute directly to the development process, although not necessarily as a full-stack developer.

• Experience with app development and system architecture.

• Good understanding of AI.

• Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide technical teams.

As a co-founder, you will be compensated with a significant equity stake in a company with tremendous potential. We are pre-money (which is why it says "unpaid", for the time being), so any salary negotiations are meant to be realized at a future point, which, with our efforts combined, will come sooner rather than later!
