Yuman is a fast-growing robotics startup developing mobile robots to assist nurses by automating the transport of small equipment in hospital wards. We currently have two robots operating in two hospitals.
Yuman was started in February 2022, by Sara and Andrei, two computer Scientists from DTU. As a Mechanical Engineer Intern at Yuman, you will play a crucial role in our hardware team, assisting on the research, development, construction, and testing of the structural elements and components of our mobile robots. Your hands-on work will involve assembling the robots, troubleshooting any issues that arise, and conducting tests to validate new ideas and concepts. You will have the opportunity to leverage 3D printing and other prototyping methods to bring your designs to life and iterate on them. Your responsibilities include:
Researching, ideating, developing, and constructing the mechanics of our mobile robots, with a focus on design for manufacturing and assembly.
Utilizing 3D CAD modeling to design and create the robot structure, cover, and other mechanical elements of the robots.
Creating clear and concise design and technical documentation to ensure effective communication within the team.
Conducting design reviews to gather feedback and improve designs.
Prototyping and testing new ideas and solutions to validate their feasibility and performance.
Assembling robots and ensuring their proper functionality.
Performing on-site troubleshooting, service, and repairs as required.
Are fluent in doing mechanical CAD work with SolidWorks and FEA simulations.
Are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical engineering or the equivalent.
Are a team player and can work in a cross-functional team.
Will be offered a full-time internship position with a flexible duration.
Are able to work in a fast-paced environment and are not afraid to adapt to new information and requirements.
Are a curious fast learner who works with a can-do attitude.
