Custimy is on the mission to create the Next-Generation Customer Data Platform for all. We are building the right infrastructural software required to activate valuable customer data for everyone. And, by everyone, we mean to empower smaller E-commerce businesses to have the same opportunities as larger ones for customer attention, acquisition and loyalty.

To support our rocket growth, we’re looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our fast-paced and exciting engineering team. You will become an integral part of shaping our Development team, focused on creating the next generation Customer Data Platform. As we are still a new company you will have a lot of impact on the development and the success journey of our start-up.


You’ll make an impact by...

  • Design, implement, and monitor data pipelines within our AWS cloud architecture

  • Design infrastructure for greater scalability, improve pipelines performance

  • Optimize data models, data storages and data warehouse capabilities

  • Assemble large and complex datasets to meet business requirements, work with different data integrations, their data formats and documentation

  • Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability of designed workflows

  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers and Data Scientists to facilitate the relevant data flows for all the platform consumers

  • Work with internal stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support data infrastructure needs

  • Spark as your daily job framework, closest friend and enemy :)

  • Python as main coding language

  • Glue & EMR as computing services

  • AWS Step Functions as our job orchestrator

  • Clickhouse

  • RDS on MySQL as DB service

  • S3 as data lake service

  • Terraform/Terragrunt for IaC related to Data Engineering orchestration

  • CI/CD and Gitlab

  • IDE of your choice (we use PyCharm)

 

Who are we looking for…

You fit this role if you are a seasoned Python Developer and a development enthusiast, who is ready to become a part of an exciting journey where the sky's the limit. You have previously created and/or worked on next-gen applications, and you are always seeking out new ways to create faster, smarter solutions.

You meet several of the following requirements:

 

  • A degree in Computer Science, Informatics or equivalent of +4 years of professional experience as a data engineer.

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.

  • Solid experience with designing scalable ETL/ELT processes which are based on data lake & data warehouse.

  • Strong programming skills in Python with understanding of software engineering principles.

  • Good knowledge of Spark API and architecture.

  • Experience with AWS cloud services like Glue, EMR, S3, Batch, Aurora or Athena is considered as asset.

  • Practical understanding of OLAP, specifically Clickhouse, and OLTP patterns, database optimization and data modeling are considered a big asset.

  • Working experience with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL.

  • Experience with modern software development stack including CI/CD, repositories, version controls and containerization.

  • Self-driven, responsible and confident working with a high degree of freedom.

  • Great at attaining knowledge independently and having an eye for the bigger picture.

  • Good overall communication skills. Great in English, both written and verbal.

  • Comfortable collaborating and working remotely
