What we look for

You are a Discord enthusiast and excited about being part of a cool new friendship community and you want to help providing value for Social Media users on LifeBonder. You have prior experience working with Discord and you know how to engage, communicate and grow a community through Discord.

You will work alongside LifeBonder social media team to compose Discord content, share ideas that are original, relatable, engageing and informational, all while incorporating LifeBonder mission to fight the negative impact of Social Media to increase mental health and quality of life for young people.

Responsibilities

Be one of the faces of LifeBonder's Discord page as LifeBonder community grows.
You will be responsible for creating Social Media Content for Discord and to communicate with our community there.
Creatively adapt to data and insights shared with you by LifeBonder social media team.
Collaborate and share ideas, inspiration, and best practices with the LifeBonder social media team.

Skills

You are reliable and accountable
Creative and outgoing with an upbeat personality.
Have prior knowledge of Discord, including how to: edit, communicate and use Discord features.
You’re generally a pleasure to work with. We value our culture and don’t make compromises on this.
You can work independently and feel comfortable structuring your own time with no oversight.
You are a strong communicator, comfortable working remotely.

In the last decade we have seen the consequences of a growing disconnect between social media and real life - and the subsequent declining mental health among young adults. And we spend a quarter of our lives in virtual social systems according to Center for Human Technology, a think tank in California. Loneliness, social media addiction and the declining mental health in young adults, has formed the main focus for our team, to improve the quality of life for 18 – 40 years old young adults – especially 18 – 25-year-old adults. Loneliness and mental health issues gives rise to healthcare costs - in Denmark alone, 20% of working age people suffer from mental illness resulting in 25% of all healthcare costs. The business model of current social media growth engines is designed around consumerism and addiction as a profit-maximizing mechanism and is markedly anti-social and therefore due for a significant disruption - LifeBonder is that disruption. LifeBonder is putting the social into social media – or rather where it belongs, outside social media. That so many young people report lacking close real-life friendships and feel lonely despite existing competitors, clearly demonstrates failure to meet the market despite existing “social” platforms. LifeBonder is therefore filling this growing need for real life experiences outside social media platforms - battling the negative impact of social media and thereby increasing the quality of life for young adults. What differentiate us from other current social media platforms is our focus on supporting our users in their real life in the local area. We suggest shared interests, activities, locations and communities in the local area and motivate people to meet.
