As our new Technical Team Lead, your job will be to build and maintain critical components and features for the Worksome platform, enabling companies and workers to connect and get more work done - with less friction. You will be part of a cross functional team that delivers specific features that will drive the success of our customers by removing friction in the world of work. Teams at Worksome work within an agile framework, ensuring continuous improvement and delivery.

In addition, as Technical Team lead, you will also be expected to work closely with the Engineering Manager on your team, helping the EM with technical discovery, identifying potential issues and blockers for the team and guiding the technical development of the team's product areas. You will also work with individuals on your team, mentoring them and providing leadership on a technical level.

About the Role

• Work closely with the engineering manager, product managers and the development team to come up with ideal solutions to current challenges, as well as make sure we are building the right things at the right time, looking at our overall priorities
• Develop new user-facing features and build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Commit to the company’s objectives  and key results in contributions and focus
• Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core software platform and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality
• Take ownership of your code, following through from idea inception to deployment
• Provide feedback and code reviews for fellow developers
• Align direction of code and other engineering best practises with the team and engineering leadership
• Create and present system designs
• Handle production issue escalations
• Create, maintain and monitor system SLAs and metrics
• Set a good example and provide guidance and mentorship to engineers on your team
• Contribute with significant hands-on coding

About You

• You have opinions about code and architecture, can easily manage PRs and code-reviews and seek to find optimal balance between product velocity and scalable code
• You enjoy working in a team where things move fast, and code is deployed to production several times a day
• You like having freedom in your work, but you are also a team player
• You are a great communicator, and like participating actively in team meetings where decisions are made
• You are able to, and enjoy mentoring engineers, helping them reach their potential and guiding them on following our engineering principles and ways of working
• You are comfortable in a lead role, and are not afraid of making decisions that will move progress forward
