🔥What you’ll be doing...

Come help build the next generation of motion capture technologies at Rokoko. Join our growing Capture Tools Hardware team and collaborate with a talented and diverse group with a wide breadth of capabilities within firmware, hardware, mechanics, electronics, quality and production.

In this role you’ll help to shape the foundation of our open source wireless sensor systems as we expand our portfolio with next generation technologies. This means you’ll play a crucial role in expanding Rokoko’s product capabilities so we can scale across new industries like sports-tech and health care.

You’ll explore and prototype the application of new technologies in our motion capture, and help set up automated testing across the entire stack, including the use of robotics and machine learning for analysing performance in development and production. Collaborate with our software team to help define a driver stack and participate in implementing best practices.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and defining firmware and aligning architecture with the larger software group
• Firmware reliability
• Participate in driving “best practices” with other software teams
• Expand/modify existing firmware architecture to fit the demands of our product portfolio
• Test, verification, and debug / hands-on troubleshooting
• Participate in integration with electronic design

🕵️ We're keen to meet someone that...

This is the job for you if you’re passionate about embedded technologies, high-performance code, open source architectures, Bluetooth (5.X), MCUs, sensor systems, DSP’s, power management and protocols like WiFi. We’re looking for a candidate that has a strong ability to communicate effectively with team members, and be able to act as a role model and leader. You’ll fit in well if you’re a fast learner, who takes initiative and has a hands-on approach.

Environment/Language/Tools/Platforms

• C/C++ programming (experience with STM32 a plus)
• Scripting in Python, (experience with PyQt, AWS a plus)
• GitHub, CMake, continuous integration, and unit test
• Experienced implementing Wifi and/or Bluetooth protocols

Experience & Hard Skills

• You hold a MSc/BSc or higher in electrical engineering, computer science, engineering or similar
• 7+ years of relevant experience with embedded systems development and debugging tools
• Hardware understanding in connection with embedded software - must be able to read schematics and use basic measurement equipment - oscilloscope etc.
• Knowledge of firmware security best practices for embedded systems
• Proficient in troubleshooting and debugging firmware
