About the Role 

As a Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel, you will take part in creating, implementing, and maintaining the overall legal and regulatory strategy for Tesseract. Your responsibilities will also include contract review and negotiation, as well as legal support on project execution and advice in compliance matters. Depending on your previous experience and abilities, you have the possibility to lead the Legal team by providing appropriate support and ensuring the team is aligned with the business strategy and its objectives.

Your responsibilities may include for example:

• Providing strategic legal and regulatory advice, for example to senior management and relevant business stakeholders

• Leading efforts in litigation work, especially related to commercial dispute resolution

• Reviewing contracts, participating in negotiations, and providing general legal support

• Providing advice on compliance matters to ensure Tesseract conducts its business in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations

• Developing an outside counsel strategy and managing relationships with external law firms

What we are looking for  

You have an LL.M or J.D. degree and 2-7 years of experience from financial services (banking, asset management, fintech) and dealing with the financial supervisory authorities and regulators. We also expect the ability to identify relevant business and legal issues proactively, evaluate risks and find creative solutions, particularly regarding novel situations. Fluency in written and spoken English is a prerequisite. However, we don’t expect you to know everything, but instead appreciate the desire to learn and develop as a professional.

We expected you to have

• LL.M. or J.D. degree

• 2-7 years of relevant experience in financial services

• Strong communication skills and desire to develop as a professional

• Excellent spoken and written proficiency in English
