Who is RE-ZIP?

RE-ZIP is building the infrastructure for circular e-commerce packaging. Circular packaging is the future in e-commerce, it has already started and in two years, EU legislation demands it.

We are a leader in the field, and we want to maintain this position, even when circular packaging becomes standard. That is why we are currently building our own infrastructure for packaging in Denmark and expanding to three additional European countries this year. We are now looking for a developer to work in close cooperation with out experienced CTO and our external developers.

Who are you?

You want to make a real difference in live, and you have the drive to play a vital role in the transformation of the e-commerce sector. You have relevant experience in relation to (at least) parts of our stack and are ready to learn more. You live in or near Aarhus or are willing to relocate/commute here.

Your responsibilities

You will be responsible for frontend projects related to your area for expertise and there will be room to take on and learn new technologies in close collaboration with the CTO and external developers. You will be involved in the continuous development of our platform, and you will be a crucial and co-determining part of the team.

Our application stack currently consists of:

an Restful API built with Ruby (not rails) and a PostgreSQL database
a React web frontend
native iOS and Android apps

Our tool chain consists of...

GitHub for source code management, CI testing and other automations
Ansible for provisioning and managing server resources
Slack for team messaging and 3rd party stakeholders

What is RE-ZIP RE-ZIP is a circular packaging concept offering circular packaging to more or less all players in the ecommerce industry. By circulating and hence reusing rather than using single-use packaging (even recycled) we save CO2 even the first time a packaging is reused. It works likes this RE-ZIP delivers the packaging to webshops who offer the sustainable packing solution to their customers at check-out for a minor fee (paid back via reward voucher upon returning the packaging). Upon receipt of the goods the customer folds the RE-ZIP packaging to a return format and return it at a Drop Point. The packaging is returned to the RE-ZIP warehouse for cleaning and re-circulation to the webshops. The RE-ZIP packaging can be circulated up to 10 times, but more importantly the packaging will begin saving CO2 Within the first or second use – depending on the type. RE-ZIP has developed a state-of-the-art backend system supporting the above process and are currently operating in Denmark, UK and Poland. Hence working at RE-ZIP will offer you in-person colleagues in Denmark and remote colleagues in before mentioned countries and more to come.
