Carla has in record time built and scaled Europe's EV-only, online car retailer. Based on our traction and recent funding, we are now looking for a Managing Director - Commercial for the Swedish market. Your mission will be to lead and scale and our commercial function in one of the fastest growing startups in Scandinavia- ever.

Carla was founded in 2020, with strong VC backing. Our founders and C-level management have experience from companies like Google, Spotify, McKinsey, H&M, Hedvig, Uber, Volvo Cars, and Lifesum.

Carla is growing at the speed of light, and we are currently looking for an experienced Managing Director - Commercial to join Carla and lead our ongoing expansion in Sweden.


You will report directly to our Chief Commercial Officer/Co-Founder and be a part of the Commercial management team at Carla, with a mission to build up local teams across Sourcing, Sales, Partnerships, Valuation, Trade-ins, and Content. Also, you will be ultimately responsible for translating local market needs relating to everything commercial to central functions, including Product.

The key KPIs you will be measured on is our customer satisfaction, net sales, purchasing volumes, inventory turnover, and gross margin.

To your help, you will form a tag team with a Managing Director Sweden - Operations, handling logistics, support, and production of cars to make them ready for selling.

Example areas of responsibility will include: 

  • Ensure we are meeting Customer satisfaction, Sales, and Gross margin targets - owning the full commercial equation/budget
  • Hire, build up and manage a local team across key commercial areas such as Sourcing, Sales, Partnerships, Pricing, and Marketing
  • Create and execute a Sourcing strategy - ranging from consumer to business to partnerships with leasing companies, car manufacturers, car dealers, and much more
  • Manage a world class Sales team, converting leads from our website while providing a GREAT customer experience
  • Ensure our Product teams create solutions that are well tailored for the Swedish market - starting from the customer but also including internal tools
  • Create smart CRM programs
  • Optimize digital marketing strategies for Sweden together with our central Marketing team
  • Drive business development

We believe that the ideal candidate has:

  • 5-7 years experience in management or executive positions, ideally including intra-/entrepreneurship roles
  • Experience from D2C/B2C companies that know what great looks like when it comes to commercial strategy and execution
  • Held leading positions in scale ups 
  • Leader of leaders i.e. managing direct reports with teams
  • A track record of leading both strategic, operational, and commercial activities, with strong results
  • Swedish market knowledge
  • Fluency in Swedish and English
