We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to be part of building the technology solution and gateway for European Car Trading of the future. The role can be based in Copenhagen or Vejle.

We are the emerging European leader in digital dealer-to-dealer trading, with more than 120,000 cars on auction in 2021. AUTOproff was established in 2013 to digitize B2B vehicle trading, helping car dealers grow sales and improve profits from used car trading.

As our new Lead Data Scientist at AUTOproff you will have the opportunity to bring your ideas to our strategy of advanced data services across the entire group. You will have direct ownership of the solutions we develop and together with our department head, you will set the course of where our services and tools develop towards.

You will join our Data & AI Team that encompasses Machine Learning Developers, Data Analyst and Data Scientist, where our common goal is to develop state-of-the-art Machine Learning products for the car industry.

Let's dive into your key responsibilities

• Driving the roadmap for Data Science experiments and research in close collaboration with our Product Team
• Coach and mentor our team of Data Scientist
• Continuously develop and improve our existing MLOps workflow
• Develop and productionizing machine learning models
• Interpreting and delivering the results of findings to stakeholders within the business
• Own and maintain your solutions, taking pride in their performance and scalability

Your mission is developing your own ML models, whilst continually improving our current suite of AI solutions. You will do this by optimizing the performance of our ML models and performing hypothesis driven ML experimentation. We only implement models for production-use and have a short process from prototype to business impact. As we scale, our range of ML use-cases also increase, so you will work with various ML areas from regression to image classification.

The need-to-have skills

• MSc degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent quantitative discipline
• +2-3 years of professional experience and track record in developing machine learning models
• Expert using Python, Pandas, NumPy, etc.
• Strong understanding of both traditional statistical modelling and machine learning
• A love for building pipelines, improve automation, increasing the robustness of our ML platform
• Excellent proficiency in English, both verbally and written

The nice-to-have skills

• Familiarity with software development tools such as git, Docker and agile processes
• Experience in Neural Networks, Deep Learning, and Tree-Based learners
• Experience with ML Ops and productionizing processes
