We now have the opportunity to look for a Data Analyst to join our awesome and growing team. We're on a mission to scale our operations and maximize value to our existing and future customers. 


Who are we looking for?

As our future Data Analyst, you will be reporting to our VP of Product, Christoph. You will play a critical role in enabling the product team to embrace a data-driven mindset,  supporting them in their decisions making process with in-depth analytics.

Your closest colleagues will be our awesome Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Analysts, and Product Managers. The position is full-time and based in our HQ, in Copenhagen.


What would be your responsibilities?

We foresee the following responsibilities, but you’ll have the opportunity and freedom to influence and define them with us.

  • Informing product-related decisions with in-depth analytics;

  • Develop & maintain a strong culture of experimentation using data so we can learn fast and make decisions based on data rather than opinions;

  • Aid Product Analytics in defining and tracking our North Star Metric(s);

  • Produce dashboards and other reports (in Tableau & Amplitude) for product teams and customers, with the following aim in mind:

    • Tracking the implementation of new features

    • Running tests & experiments across our users

    • Analyzing the impact and importance of ‘legacy’ features

    • Aid product managers in their product discovery efforts

    • Understanding drivers of retention, adoption, and churn

    • Providing internal teams as well as external customers with valuable product         usage insights

  • Support embedded analytics projects for product teams;

  • Refine and iterate on the existing customer segmentation dashboard;

  • Create proper documentation & understanding of our database structures;

  • Encourage and further enhance our data democratization efforts.

Thus, to succeed in this role, we expect you to:

  • Have at least 3 years of experience in Data Analytics;

  • Have a deep understanding of data pipeline and experience with standard product analytics frameworks, metrics, and toolkits;

  • Have a practical knowledge of  data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar;

  • Master SQL to perform ad-hoc analyses;

  • Use languages like Python or R to clean, analyze, and visualize large data sets more efficiently;

  • Have a foundational understanding of statistics (probability theory, distribution analysis, etc;) and of the modern data stack;

  • Be a great team player with a strong attitude to work in a collaborative environment with a large number of technical and non-technical collaborators;

  • Enjoy working in an asynchronous.


How will this role progress?

Within  1st month you will :

  • Meet your new colleagues and understand who is doing what;

  • Get comfortable with the Penneo journey;

  • Have an understanding of our current data structure;

  • Understand the problems Penneo solves for customers and how we can; continue to solve problems for auditors internationally. 

Within 3 months you will :

  • Have a clear overview of your collaborators and stakeholders in the running projects;

  • Have established great relationships with colleagues and you will have created a foundation for collaboration;

  • Start understanding the challenges and opportunities within how Penneo can continue to use data;

  • Be running smaller product analytics projects guiding the improvement of product-related decision-making;

  • Be supporting product Analytics in the development and implementation of North Star Metrics & other KPIs.

Within 6 months you will :

  • Take ownership of the analytics, reporting & experimentation structure for one of our product teams;

  • Be influencing decisions within our product teams;

  • Have extensive knowledge of how our data is produced and how to find the necessary information;

  • Be setting up a needed structure for product development and start taking action on data.

Within 12 months you will :

  • Be in the process of improving Penneo data setup, to ensure continued growth;

  • Inspire  by a data-driven approach, where product teams are self-driven in finding answers to questions in data;

  • Have, together with the product team, formatted a data team that can support product development

  • Be ready to take on more responsibilities.

About our interview process

We want you to know what to expect. All of our interviews can be conducted remotely, scheduled via email and Google Meet for audio/video calls if you prefer.

  1. Call with one of our Talent Acquisition Specialists, Anna  (~30m): introduction to the company, mutual initial expectation leveling.

  2. Call with our VP of Product, Christoph (~45m): Get to know each other, assess for mutual fit, introduction to the impact and goals for the position.

  3. Collaboration round (~1h): Together with two team members, you will discuss your approach to a problem scenario to assess collaboration fit and ways of working.

  4. The practicalities (~45m): Closing talk with our VP of Product, Christoph agreeing about compensation, starting date, and all other practical details.
