We are looking for an experienced geotechnical engineer / principal geologist for South America to fill a senior role and join our new subsidiary in Brazil. You will be joining a vibrant and dynamic work environment directly connected with the HQ in Oslo, Norway. You will help us bring infrastructure development into the 21st century and where you will have freedom to form your own role as we grow.

As a principal geologist in Brazil, working on business development, your main responsibilities will be customer focused and include:

• Building relationships and developing sales pipeline.

• Preparing tendering material for bidding processes.

• Project management of multiple projects within the customer’s scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensuring quality standards on project deliverables.

• Coordinating project execution with subcontracters and providers.

• Interpretation of geological and geophysical data with EMerald’s proprietary ML workflows.

• Oral and written presentation of products to customers in Portuguese and English.

• Administrative activities as a principal in Brazil.

We also expect you to:

• provide strategic input to EMerald’s HQ

• collaborate closely with the team at HQ

• communicate development results to peers and clients in writing and orally

• work independently but also as part of a team.

What we are looking for:

• BSc or higher within a Geological Science or Civil engineer.

• Minimum five years of sales experience.

• Minimum ten years of hands-on experience as a geologist or geotechnical engineer in Brazil.

• Solid experience working as a Project Manager managing all facets of projects (budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk) for individual projects including planning, subcontract management, execution, report and closeout

• Fluent in Portugese and advanced or fluent level of English, as English will be your working language.

• Available for national and international travel and face to face training in Norway.

It would be a benefit if you also have:

• Knowledge of EM geophysics and inverse theory

• MSc in geology, geotechnical engineering or related fields

• Appropriate technical national certification.

• Advanced level of Spanish

• Have a high level network in the infrastructure industry.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent
