At MeetingPackage, our vision is to make meeting rooms and event spaces accessible to everyone. We automate the current manual booking process to make it faster, more efficient and delightful. We’re now looking for an experienced frontend developer to join our small team to ensure design-focused implementation, build a solid foundation for our upcoming component system and oversee the quality of our product.

To support our mission, we’ve recently started to pay special attention to our user experience, and our user interface plays a significant role in that shift. As a lead frontend developer, you’ll help plan and build new features and collaborate closely with our designers, engineers and management. You will also help develop our new accessible component system.

We’re a small, diverse and friendly team of 20+ professionals and nine nationalities spread across the globe. You’ll find our developers, designers, marketers, managers and salespeople working seamlessly and having fun together. We spend time together and organise offsite events at least once a year.

This position is for full-time employment.

Requirements

As a lead frontend developer, you will…

  • Oversee the implementation quality of everything we publish. You make sure that everything is aligned with the design system and works with a wide range of devices. You know what pixel-perfection and interactions mean.
  • Plan and build new features. You work closely with designers, developers and management. You’re familiar with implementing complex views and components and fetching data from our own and 3rd-party APIs.
  • Help with automated testing strategy. You know how to write unit, integration and probably even end-to-end tests, and you know the ins and outs of each.
  • Help convert legacy code to our new tech stack. We have some legacy PHP and Vue code, which we’re upgrading to React.
  • Help build a complex but accessible design system. We ensure accessibility by using React ARIA behind the scenes.
  • Wear multiple hats. One day you might help to plan and implement a new feature, and the other, you organise an educational session for the tech team about the best practices we should follow.
  • Own your work. As a small team, we are all responsible for the success of our company.

  • React, TypeScript, Redux and Tailwind on the front-end.
  • Node and PHP on the backend.
  • MongoDB, PostgreSQL and MySQL for databases.
  • Figma for our design.
  • A custom design system built on top of React ARIA.
  • Github, Slack and Jira for managing our work.
  • AWS for cloud infrastructure.

Our company was founded in 2014 when our CEO experienced the frustration of selling, managing and booking a meeting room or an event space. How could it be such a complicated and time-consuming process? MeetingPackage was born from this challenge, charged with the mission to help hoteliers sell their meeting rooms with the same ease as they can sell their bedrooms. We have three main products for venues and hoteliers: MeetingPackage Venue & Sales Management - allows venues and hotels to manage and enhance the content, inventory, pricing, business rules, connectivity/integrations and much more. MeetingPackage Internet Booking Engine - allows venues and hotels to white label and implement the technology within their website through a no-code platform or via our APIs. MeetingPackage Channel Manager and Global Distribution - allows hotels and venues to distribute their inventory and take control of sales through one interface to over 10 000 channels that are connected with MeetingPackage. In short, our ambition is to have more than 100 000 venues with live availability connected by 2025, which will make us the largest distribution network globally. 🚀
