How you can contribute

As Sustainability Manager, you will help companies turn their green motivations into actual CO₂ reductions. Rooted in climate science, Reel works to transform electricity procurement to empower companies to drive the transition to a society powered entirely by renewable energy. As our domain expert on everything related to sustainability of electricity, you will lead the development and implementation of our sustainability strategy and engage with a wide range of stakeholders within the corporate sustainability ecosystem. This is a high-impact role where you will work directly with Reel’s founders and management on shaping Reel’s offering.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement our sustainability approach:

• Work closely with our CTO and product team to offer our customers actionable climate insights and the most transparent and accurate GHG reporting tool

• Define a market-leading approach to carbon accounting of electricity, drawing on knowledge and corporate standards for green accounting (GHG Protocol, SBTi, RE100, etc.) and related topics such as 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy, Additionality and Emissionality

Support our customers and internal team:

• Support Reel’s CEO and CCO in business development initiatives by engaging with the sustainability teams at companies in our pipeline

• Build and maintain relations with existing customers and assist them with their climate strategies, reporting and initiatives. Explore our customers’ needs for reporting on CO₂ emissions according to standards for green accounting and develop ways to address them with our product team

• Document our sustainability approach and develop learning materials for future hires

Thought leadership and advocacy:

• Position Reel as Denmark’s 100% climate-focused electricity provider through participation in conferences, networking events and by generating content (e.g. white papers, blog posts, webinars, etc.)

• Advocate - far and wide - for improved and more transparent accounting of scope 2 emissions and standards for green electricity procurement to ensure additionality and eliminate greenwashing

• Build and maintain relations with strategic stakeholders within the corporate sustainability ecosystem such as policymakers, NGOs, public institutions, industry organisations, and climate activists

Take part in general company-building activities to help Reel grow as an organization:

• Work with Reel’s management and colleagues on start-up-related projects

• Participate in wider company events, workshops and meetings

• Share and receive feedback and contribute to making Reel a comfortable and inclusive place to work

Who you are

As a human, you are kind and respectful. As a team member, you are conscientious, curious, and eager to learn. You are comfortable working with a high level of autonomy. You likely have experience from consulting, as a sustainability manager, in a business development role or similar. You value both giving and receiving feedback.

In addition, you’ll have some (not necessarily all) of the following traits:

• A good understanding of and interest in scope 2 emissions and corporate GHG accounting practices and standards

• Ideally knowledge of renewable energy systems and issues around sustainability of electricity

• Comfortable building things from scratch proven ability to perform in a high-pace environment

• Excited about speaking with international stakeholders and customers

• A keen eye for detail, and ability to think strategically and carry out the strategy in the field

• Ideally fluent in Danish
